Over the years, Lewisville Lodge No. 201 has been fortunate to have at its helm many outstanding Master Masons and community leaders. Among our Alumni of Past Masters, we have the following that you might not be aware of:
R.H. Donald, WM 1861, 1862, 1865, & 1866 was a State Representative in 1868
T.M. Claytor, WM 1874, 1875, 1877, 1878, 1883, 1867, & 1893 was born in Virginia in 1833 and moved to Denton County in 1857. He was a Confederate soldier in Alexander's Regiment. He was also a 30 year member of the Methodist Church, as well as a Royal Arch Mason. In 1867 he built the first Cotton Gin along with George Craft.
J. H. Donald , WM 1876, was Denton County Commissioner in 1868.
S. A. Kealy, WM 1879, 1885, 1889, 1898, was the Denton County Representative to the State Constitutional Convention in 1866.
J. F. Ford, WM 1881, was a well known physician in town and a soldier for the Southern Confederacy.
J.C. Brannon, WM 1882 & 1894, was a former Colonel and was also the County Commissioner in 1894.
W.D. Milliken, WM 1888, 1890, 1897, 1901, 1910, & 1911 went into the mercantile business in Lewisville in 1877. He built his house in 1878 which was recorded as a Texas Historical Landmark in 1969
J.N. Kealy, WM 1899, was born in Brooklyn, NY and in 1892, along with John Buster, operated the Round Bale Cotton Gin for eight years.
W.N. Jackson, WM 1902, was County Commissioner in 1896, 1898, and 1900. The existing County Courthouse was built while he was Commissioner.
W.N. Rowell, WM 1904, author of "1843-1848" and a bound copy of "1843-1848 Reminiscences of Early Days in Texas and the Southwest".
W.H. Milliken, WM 1916 & 1935, was the Mayor of Lewisville from 1941 to 1949.
