This week in District 84This week in District 84

Brethren,

It is time to start planning to send your officer’s to the Warden’s Retreat. I have attached a registration form which includes the dates and locations for all four Retreats.

Warden’s Retreat Application 2012

Please give serious thought to giving your officers the opportunity to attend one of the retreats, the return on investment for your Lodge is well worth the cost and time you will spend.

Below are the activities that I am aware of in our district this week. Please let me know if you have upcoming degrees and or events and I will be sure to help get the word out to our Lodges.

Please support each other whenever possible, and as our District Deputy RW David Kinney, reminded us in his message from the Grand Master, be proud of our Fraternity and be proud to be a Master Mason.

Fraternally,

Larry

Fundraising Opportunity

Here is a unique opportunity forwarded to me by Brother Ben Wilson of The Colony Lodge, for us to work together and make some money for our Lodges:

Larry, I am requesting your assistance in getting the word out to Lodges for the following offer to all the area lodges for a fundraising opportunity. With the offer being for a total of 25 people it may take several lodges that are interested to fill this request.

The person that handles the parking crews at Texas Motor Speedway has contacted me with an offer for Masons and Shriners Groups to work at the Speedway during Friday April 13 and Saturday April 14. This opportunity is open to 25 people each day at 8 to 12 hours per day. It pays $8.00 per hour for each person. The lots at the Speedway where the assistance is needed are the VIP/PSL areas.

If a lodge is interested in this offer please have them contact me for additional information, but I am not going to coordinate this. I will send them the directors contact information and it will most likely be a first to contact first to get assigned. Any commitment made to her will be between that lodge and her, she is fair but running a business so commitments need to be honored with performance.

Justin Lodge No. 963
Dinner at 6:00 Play at 7:00
It is a tiled play, so it is for Master Masons only.

“GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN.”
Doric Lodge makes a Mason of a dying man, regarded by all in the town of Aaronton as a hero and benefactor, the more so that he is poor, unlearned, humble. The circumstances of his raising, and the action of the Master in ordering it are such as to fly in the face of all Grand Lodge laws, regulations and customs, and seem to make certain he will be suspended or the lodge lose its charter. The reasons for the non-occurrence of these dreaded happenings and the strange but happy ending make this one of the most popular of the plays.
