History of the Race for the Children
In 2005 Lewisville Lodge took on a new endeavor to reach out to our local community and re-energize our involvement with the Lewisville Independent School District. Our lodges first endeavor to put on a fun run was a good success for a first year event. We had 96 registered runners and were able to provide $400 to the Lewisville Independent School District. What a learning experience it was for us!
As we enter into our fifth year with “Race for the Children”, we are proud to
say that last year’s race was a tremendous success, in spite of the hurricane. We increased participation in both sponsors and race participants and were able to give $3,000 to the LISD Education Foundation and $4,000 to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Since its inception, the race has raised nearly $20,000 for these worthy causes.
